Abstract

[Also in Division B3] A fire damper comprises a one-piece perimeter frame formed from unitary stock 40 (Fig. 14)) having central planar web 41 divided from side margins 42 by upstanding parallel flanges 43 by folding the stock at notches 50a, 50b &c., in 43 and then securing the open corner with L-shaped plates 68 by means of tabs and holes 62, 62a (Fig. 21), and mounted in the continuous channel 41 of the closed frame by .means of pivot pins 78 in holes 57, a blade assembly formed of hingedly interconnected 'blades 82, 91 &c., which are retained reversely compacted by a flexible wire passing through holes 63 and secured by S-link 96 and heat-fusible link 97. The blade assembly may be locked in its operative position to' close the airflow path fully. In an alternative embodiment <Fig. 24, not shown) the blade assembly is mounted to move horizontally.
