Abstract

1,189,093. Garment hangers. O. BLOM and C. ANDERSSON. 1 Jan., 1969, No. 132/69. Heading A4U. In a garment hanger having garmentengaging members 2 urged by a spring 5 from a bar 1, the inner end of the leg 11 of each member 2 has a tongue 12 engaging the inner end of a retaining tooth 8 integral with the bar 1. The bar has a continuous longitudinal opening extending from end to end and at each end terminal lateral lips 7 guiding entry of the tongue 12, and a tooth 8 projecting upwardly to press the limb 11 against the upper wall of the bar. The tooth 8 yields resiliently to permit entry of the tongue 12, and engaging surfaces of the tooth and tongue slope downwardly and outwardly to prevent jamming and hence excess wear. The tongues 12 are also guided by longitudinal slots in a closure bounding the lower edge of the opening in the bar. A socket 4 has a hole which is initially of smaller diameter than the threaded end of the suspension hook 3 screwed thereinto or increases in diameter towards the bar 1.
