Abstract

1288541 End fittings for Bowden mechanisms TELEFLEX Inc 21 Jan 1970 [23 May 1969] 2955/70 Heading D1T [Also in Division E2] A terminal for the inner wire of a Bowden mechanism comprises a resilient block 16 that has a slot 44 into which said inner wire can be forced with a snap-in action. As shown the slot has a V-shaped part that leads said wire into a recess of circular cross-section. The block has a further recess 46 for accommodating a metal slug at the end of the wire; and a hole 42 whereby the block can be secured to a control member. In a modified construction Fig. 8 (not shown) the recess 46 is a narrow one that accommodates a folded up end portion of the wire thus avoiding the aforementioned metal slug.
