Abstract

1,115,938. Brackets. S. F. CHAPLIN. 21 March, 1967 [15 June, 1966], No. 26620/66. Heading A4B. A bracket 5 formed from bent metal plate has an upper tongue 6 having notches 7 in its side edges which engage longitudinal, lipped flanges 4 of side walls 3 of a channel section upright 1, and a lower end portion 9 which bears on the mouth of the upright 1 and has a tapped hole (10) which receives a stud 11 that threadedly engages a locking block 12 within the channel to lock the bracket 5 at any selected position along the length of the upright 1. As shown, a strut 8 interconnects the horizontal arid inclined leg 13 of the bracket. In a modification (Fig. 6), a tongue 6 and a lower end 9 are integral with the strut 8.
