Abstract

1,186,684. Turning inside out. HALL TEXTILES (MANSFIELD) Ltd. 1 April. 1968 [30 March, 1967], No. 14442/67. Heading D1X. [Also in Division A3] The apparatus for use in examining and turning garments of Specification 1144639 has an arm 9 pivotally mounted on the upper end of each tube 1 and biassed to the upwardly inclined position shown by means of a spring (14) secured to the lower end of the tube and to a cord (15) connected to the arm 9, Fig. 2 not shown. Extensions (13) of transparent plastics material are adjustably mounted on the arm 9 by means of a bolt (12), Fig. 2. In use, a garment such as a shirt S is drawn on to the tubes with the arms 9 in the position shown to support the shoulders and neck as in wear, lights within covers 4 on the tubes are switched on and the platform 2 supporting the tubes is rotated to allow examination of the shirt body. Then the shirt is drawn further on to the tubes so that the latter project into the sleeves, the arms 9 being pushed down, against the action of the springs (14), within the covers 4. To remove the shirt, suction is applied to the tubes 1 to hold the ends of the sleeves while the body of the garment is drawn off the tubes.
