Abstract
1,184,374. Gear finishing cutters. CARL HURTH MASCHINEN-UND ZAHNRADFABRIK. 7 July, 1967 [25 July, 1966], No. 31455/67. Heading B3K. In a gear shaving cutter the total width across a tooth flank of the land portions 12, 12a, (Fig. 1) or 18, (Fig. 4) varies discontinuously from root to tip of the tooth. This may be achieved by forming alternate land portions 12 (Fig. 1) of less height than the other land portions 12a or as shown in Fig. 4. In other embodiments (Figs. 2, 3, not shown) the tooth is recessed either at the tip or root so that the outer land portions are of reduced effective height.
