Abstract

1,183,595. Disintegrating mills. J.M.J. INDUSTRIES Inc. 18 Sept., 1967, No. 42346/67. Heading B2A. A striker plate for use between a pair of spaced rings 10, 11 of a rotor in a disintegrating mill comprises an elongate plate 12 having a leading impact face 13 with inner and outer edges 14, 15, and integral flanges 16 at each end of the plate extending forwardly of the leading impact face 13 for a greater distance adjacent the inner edge 14 than at the outer edge 15. This provides a forward wedge surface 17. The plate 12 is wedged in position by welded bars 20. A structural member 23 abuts the plate 12, with a welded reinforcing ledge 26, and bolts 27 whose heads 30 are embedded in and secure the plate 12, which is thus readily detachable and replaceable.
