Abstract

1,183,491. Packaging; cartons. HENRY SQUIRES & SONS. 23 Jan., 1968 [27 Jan., 1967], No. 4063/67. Headings B8C and B8P. Packs, e.g. " blister packs " 11, comprising articles mounted on a flat base 10, are packaged by engaging the articles in apertures in a backing member which lies flush against the flat base of the pack and has upstanding flaps 14 adjacent the sides of the article to support it and tabs 15 to secure the base 10. Backing members 12 can be on opposite sides of an open-ended tube or carton, the apertures being formed, by depressing flaps 14, formed by cuts in the opposite sides so that the packs 11 can be mounted in staggered relationship. The flaps 14 act as supporting members increasing the vertical rigidity of the box. The base members 10 of the packs may be further located by tongues 17 which overlie their ends.
