Abstract

1,182,505. Impact pulverizers. F. DE L. S. IZQUIERDO. 20 April, 1967, No 18237/67. Heading B2A. A mill comprises a feed means, viz. a screw conveyor 9 on top of a housing to convey material towards the centre of two parallel horizontal grinding discs 13, 24 driven in opposite directions by separate motors 5, 20. Material is discharged by gravity via a cone 28. Concentric cylindrical walls 15 . . . 17, 25 . . . 27 on the discs 13, 24 overlap to form between the discs a plurality of guiding chambers. In operation, material is ground by impact and attrition as it passes centrifugally through the chambers. Ground material collects against flanges 30 and 31 and thus protects the metal parts from wear and the remainder of the material from contamination.
