Abstract
1,043,947. Grinding mills. D.C. PEACOCK. June 22, 1965, No. 26323/65. Heading B2A. A grinding mill comprises a drum 6 driven at above critical speed and having a crushing roller 8 rolling freely therein, material 9 to be ground between the roller and drum being fed by means of shoots 56, 57 and crushed material 14 being stripped from the drum at the downstream side of the roller 8 and directed through an opening 16 at one end of the drum by means of fluid streams issuing from a plurality of nozzles 19 connected to a source of fluid under pressure. The drum comprises head members at opposite ends thereof, one of the head members being provided with spaced impeller blades 22 which extend across the opening 16 to define discharge openings. The mill is provided with a baffle 31 to prevent recycling of crushed material.
