Abstract

118,149. Dunlop Rubber Co., and Macbeth, C. Aug. 14, 1917. Block tyres.-A stud for attachment to tractor and like wheel rims consists of a rubber &c. wearing block B secured to a metal base A having one or more threaded stems C adapted to be passed through holes in the ring D, is shaped on its under surface to take a firm bearing on the rim irrespective of its diameter. For this latter purpose, in the construction shown, the base is formed with three projecting feet F, which may have undercut edges F<x>, Fig. 8. Nuts E are screwed on to the stems C, and to allow for the rim curvature, spring or profiled washers Ex may be fitted under the nuts. The studs may be arranged in any order of the rim, Figs. 4 and 6 showing typical arrangements. In the latter Figure, the base-plates A are shown with flat edges G, the abutment of which serves to prevent the studs from twisting.
