Abstract

1,180,605. Gas diffuser nozzles. STRUTHERS SCIENTIFIC & INTERNATIONAL CORP. 9 April, 1968 [2 May, 1967], No. 20178/67. Heading B2F. [Also in Division F4] Adjustable gas diffuser nozzles for fluid bed dryers comprise a tubular shank 20 having a lower part 18 adapted to pass through and be fixed to a partition plate 10, an annular shoulder 24 at the upper end of the shank to rest on the partition plate, a castellated upper end of the tubular shank projecting above the shoulder and containing radial slots 32 and having external threads 28 formed thereon, a pointed cap 42 having sides sloping downward at an angle of at least 30‹ and a cylindrical skirt extending below the cap and having an internal thread adapted to be screwed about the castellated upper end, the skirt having oppositely disposed locking apertures to receive a locking pin 50 passing through the apertures and through oppositely disposed radial slots in the castellated upper end. The cap and shoulder may have oppositely disposed flats to facilitate adjustment. The nozzle may be made of stainless steel.
