Abstract
599,657. Powder distributers; stoppers. HILL, R. LE B. Oct. 12, 1945, No. 26746. [Classes 18 and 125 (iii)] A distributing container for salt or like granular material comprises a body part with a centrally located outlet that is coned at the lower end to coact with a cone valve formed at the end of a pillar integral with or secured to the base which may be integral with or removable from the body. Fig. 1 shows a container comprising a cylindrical body portion 10 into which are screwed top and bottom portions 11, 12, the latter having a valve 18 to co-operate with a conical seating formed at the inner end of an aperture 13a in the top 11. Alternatively the top and body may be formed as one and the bottom screw thread extended to permit adjustment of the valve. In another modification Fig. 3, (not shown) the valve seating is formed in an externally screw threaded tube located in the aperture 13a, flanges being provided at each end of the tube to limit its movement towards and away from the valve.
