Abstract

1,180,209. Pipe joints. JURID WERKE G.m.b.H. 20 Jan., 1969, No. 3172/69. Heading F2G. A pipe jointing sleeve, e.g. of synthetic plastics or metal, and for clamping over sealing tubes 12 by hose clips 10a, 10b, has a central, external circumferential groove 14, a central, internal circumferential flange 20 and two concentric strengthening ribs 17a, 17b, adjacent the groove. Axial slots 15 extend from the rims of the sleeve to the respective rib. As shown, the clips are received between pairs of ribs 18, and the sealing tube 12 has a groove for reception of the flange 20. In the unstressed state, both ends of the sleeve may be conically tapered. In a modification, one of the slots 15 extends from one end to the other of the sleeve in which ease, prior to tightening the clips 10a, 10b, a supporting foil is disposed below the slot.
