[Also in Division F2] A joint, for example, for furniture, between two tubes a, a<SP>1</SP> at right angles to one another includes a socket piece c of a plastic, and adapted to receive or partially receive one tube a and shouldered or reduced at c<SP>2</SP> to receive the tube a at right angles thereto, the socket piece being axially drilled for the reception of a fastening screw b which passes through the tube a and is engaged by the screw-thread thereof with a dished washer d. The latter, upon rotation of the screw, is flattened and expanded laterally on to the wall of the tube a<SP>1</SP> to secure that tube and the socket piece tightly against the tube a.
