Abstract
1,180,097. Pelleting fodder. DORSTENER EISENGIESSEREI UND MASCHINENFABRIK A.G. 23 Aug., 1967 [24 Aug., 1966], No. 38806/67. Heading A2B. A crank-drive extrusion press for pelleting fibrous fodder comprises a horizontally reciprocable press plunger (25), which passes into a fixed press bush (34), and a grab device driven in dependance on the movement of the plunger and having cup-shaped grab members (26, 27) movable towards and away from each other, preferably about a common axis (55), the components being so coupled that the movement of the grab members towards one another terminates during the entry of the plunger end (25a) into the grab space defined jointly by the grab members and as the plunger is moving towards the press bush, and the following movement of the grab members away from one another terminates before the press plunger end reaches the middle of the grab space in its movement away from the press bush. Preferably the grab members are so formed that the grab space is funnel-shaped at the entrance end. The press bush may be provided with cooling water (41).
