Abstract

1,178,213. Knitting-machines. SCHUBERT & SALZER MASCHINENFABRIK A.G. 12 Feb., 1968 [11 Feb., 1967], No. 6781/68. Heading D1C. A ring 2 is mounted at the edge of the welt dial and revolves therewith so that its edge 21 constitutes a thread cutting edge which cooperates with an oscillating blade 11 to sever the thread. The blade 11 may be pivoted in a holder 13 and have a projecting rear portion 130 which engages an irregular cam surface 23 to cause the blade to oscillate about its pivot in the holder 13. The ring 2 may have a smooth or serrated cutting edge cooperating with the blade 11. Alternatively the blade may take the form of a disc cooperating with an upstanding edge of the ring 2 or it may be a cam operated reciprocating member engaging the rng at ain angle. Instead of the cam surface 23 an individual cam driven from a separate drive may bear on the rear portion 130 to cause the oscillation. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,139,539.
