Abstract

117,666. Anderschou, H. W., Lambshead, W., and Ramsay, J. M. July 24, 1917. Yeast.-Brewers' yeast is rendered suitable for baking purposes by treating it with a solution of borax and an alkali carbonate such as sodium or potassium bicarbonate. The yeast may be afterwards treated with a solution of alkali carbonate, such as sodium or potassium carbonate, alone.
