Abstract

Solid alkali percarbonates are obtained by treating sodium carbonate with hydrogen peroxide in presence of sufficiently limited quantities of water to produce the solid product directly, and of sodium chloride for salting out the product. A previous calcination of the sodium carbonate, and the addition of anticatalysers such as sodium silicate, magnesium chloride and magnesium-sodium silicate are advantageous.
