Abstract
1,176,191. Ignition generators. AMBAC INDUSTRIES Inc. 12 Jan., 1967 [13 Jan., 1966], No. 1670/67. Heading H2A. [Also in Division F1] A magneto generator comprises a stator 12 having a salient pole mounted winding 14<SP>1</SP> and a rotor comprising two axially displaced toothed discs 60, 62, mounted against opposite sides of an axially magnetized ferrite permanent magnet 64, the teeth on the discs being interdigitated. In a modification, Fig. 1 (not shown), the stator has two circumferentially displaced stator winding (13, 14) connected together to give a cumulative output, one winding (14) having a higher impedance than the other (13) so that it has the greater output at low speeds and the other the greater output at high speeds, the cumulative output being reasonably uniform over a wide speed range.
