Abstract

1,172,893. Yarn tension devices; creels. MASCHINENFABRIK BENNINGER A.G. 6 Feb., 1967 [15 Feb., 1966], No. 5557/67. Headings D1D and D1M. A yarn tensioner enclosed in a creel column comprises a spring-loaded disc 13 and a complementary disc 12 which is rotated independently of the yarn so that the yarn passing through the discs does not score them and keeps them clean. The yarn passes through eyes 16, 17, 18 off the centre of the discs and the disc 12 rests on a member 8 that is rotated by a gear 34. There may be two pairs of discs 12, 13, the bottom disc of each pair being rotated but only the top disc of one pair being spring loaded. The spring loading is adjustable.
