Abstract

1,171,892. Heat-treating magnet alloys. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. June 7, 1968 [June 9, 1967], No.27169/68. Heading C7A. A permanent magnet is made of an alloy containing in percentage by weight Co 28 - 45 Ni 10 - 20 Al 7 - 9 Ti 7 - 10 Cu 0-6 Fe balance and is heat-treated by quenching from 900‹-1000‹C. to below the Curie temperature, after which it is held at a temperature between 10‹C. below and 70‹C below the Curie temperature for 2 to 30 minutes under the influence of a magnetic field. The magnet may then be cooled to room temperature at 0À5 to 1À5‹C. /second.
