Abstract

A permanent magnet is made of an alloy containing in percentage by weight Co 28 - 45 Ni 10 - 20 Al 7 - 9 Ti 7 - 10 Cu 0-6 Fe balance and is heat-treated by quenching from 900 -1000 C. to below the Curie temperature, after which it is held at a temperature between 10 C. below and 70 C below the Curie temperature for 2 to 30 minutes under the influence of a magnetic field. The magnet may then be cooled to room temperature at 0À5 to 1À5 C. /second.
