Abstract
1,171,496. Diapers. JOHNSON & JOHNSON. 24 Feb., 1967 [26 Feb., 1966], No. 8993/67. Heading A3V. A diaper comprises a body 10 of absorbent material having corrugations 30 closely juxtaposed at the control portion. The central portion of the diaper is restrained in its reduced state by adhesive spots 38 applied between the corrugations or by stitching on one or both sides. Suitable adhesives, of the acrylic resins or vinyl resins types as listed. The absorbent core is preferably the same as disclosed in Specification 1169823 i.e. a heterogeneous fibrous composition composed of synthetic hydrophilic fibres, e.g. rayon, and non- cardable fibres. The core of the diaper is covered with cloth e.g. non-woven fabrics, gauze, before corrugating. The cloth may extend partially around the core and an impervious backing may envelope the balance of the core. The diaper is embossed around its periphery 25, preferably by spaced apart indulations 27, 28.
