[Also in Divisions F2 and H2 ] In a hydro-electric machine set consisting of a turbine or pump runner 1 secured to an outer casing 9 carrying the rotor 13, 14 of the electrical machine, the casing 9 is supported on bearing rollers 17 arranged in the links 18 of a chain. The ends of the chain are anchored to the foundation 20 through intermediate links 19. The rollers 17 support the casing 9 via rings 16 on the periphery of the casing. Additional support is given by guide rollers 21 anchored in the foundation 20 by brackets 22. The runner 1 has angularly adjustable blades 7 pivoted at 8 in the casing 9. The runner is mounted on a shaft 5 journalled in the hub 6 of the guide vane system. The stator of the electrical machine is disposed at 15.
