Abstract
1,169,223. Hot storage vehicle loading apparatus; skip hoists. H. C. TAMPIN. 6 Dec., 1967 [27 Sept., 1966], No. 42983/66. Headings B8E and B8H. Apparatus to store or vehicle load hot road making materials of different mixes comprises insulated bins 3-6 supplied by a skip 8 mounted on a bridge 21 movable to allow discharge of the skip into a selected bin. The bridge 21 supports a skip framework 20 on which the skip is raised by a hoist drum 25 and a balance weight framework 22. The skip is loaded in a space between the bins 4, 5 by a conveyer 1 delivering material from an asphalt mixer 2 and as it is being raised on its framework the bridge 21 is traversed along rails 16 to allow discharge of the skip into the selected bin. A whole bin loading cycle is automatically controlled by a circuit controlling the various actuating motors and actuators which open and close the skip discharge door and bin inlet door at appropriate times. The conveyer 1 may deliver directly to a vehicle.
