Abstract

1,034,372. Loading mine cars. W. H. BARKER & SON ENGINEERS L t d. July 6, 1964 [July 16, 1963], No. 28066/63. Heading B8E. Mine cars 10 are moved below a hopper 4 from which they are filled at a rate which is controlled by the rate of supply of material to the hopper from a belt conveyer 1. The latter runs over and depresses a roller 2 which operates a weighing device 3. The hopper 4 discharges on to a vibratory feeder 5 the speed of which is controlled by a device 7 associated with the weighing device 3. A door 8 may be opened and closed hydraulically, electrically or mechanically by an actuator 9. An endless chain 13 advances the cars at a rate controlled by the control gear 7. Control means 14 stop and start the vibrator 6 and open and close the door 8 when a truck is full or when an empty truck is ready to be filled. Level sensing devices 15 and 16 in the bunker 4 stop the conveyer if the bunker becomes too full and speed it up if the level falls too low.
