Abstract

1,024,433. Unloading bulk container vehicles. N. TAMPLIN & CO. Ltd. Dec. 10, 1963 [Nov. 15, 1962], No. 43328/62. Heading B8E. A tipping container 10 of a vehicle has an outlet trap 16 controlled by a gate valve 18. In order to control the rate of discharge to a metering valve 12 normally stowed below the container it is movable, by engagement of its mounting plate 13 with channel member 14, to a position to the rear of the vehicle so that the amount of material in a hopper 34 can be seen. The device 12 comprises a housing 25 containing a vaned rotor feeding the material to a pneumatic conveyer 30. The discharge of the material from the container 10 may be assisted by an auger or an internal movable bulkhead or other suitable means with or without tipping of the container.
