Abstract
561,720. Mixing concrete. HOPPERTON, J. E. Feb. 8, 1943, No. 2039. [Class 86] A concrete mixing apparatus comprises a wheeled chassis A carrying one or more receiving hoppers B at a low level into which material for concrete making can be dumped, a plurality of large capacity bins C, D, E, power-operated elevating means F for transferring material from the hopper or hoppers to the appropriate bins, manually operated doors 8 for gravity delivery from the bins, a power-operated concrete mixing machine, and means for measuring and transferring materials in batches from the bins to the mixer. The measuring and transferring means comprise containers J, K provided with movable partitions 14, 15 and jigged by links 11 and an eccentric. Spouts 13 deliver to the mixer. Sand and gravel or chippings elevated fall on a screen G<1>, the sand passing through to the bin C and the chippings passing through a screen G<2> to the bin D. The screens are jigged by a link 5. The bin E contains cement dumped from sacks through a hatch 7. The elevator may be folded at 3 for transport.
