Abstract

1,168,704. Duplex filter. G. & A. FIRKINS Ltd. 24 Jan., 1968 [24 Jan., 1967], No. 3506/67. Heading B1D. [Also in Division F2] A rotary plug valve in a duplex filter 10, 11, comprises a plug formed with two oppositely tapering portions 17 and 25 coupled by a recess 24 and a spigot 26 so as to be rotatable as a unit, and also connected by a spindle 27 screw-threaded into the portion 25 so that the portions can be axially adjusted by a handle 28 to take up wear. The plug is rotated by a handle 21 to control flow through the inlet 12 and outlet 13 by way of the filter 10 or filter 11. The inner part 22 of the portion 17 is cylindrical and has sealing members 23 and 30 to prevent leakage from one flow path to the other. Lubricant can be supplied from a nipple 35 through the spindle 27 and passages 34 to the faces of the plug.
