Abstract

1,168,418. Load handling pallets. K. BAIER. 7 Aug., 1968, No. 37617/68. Heading B8H. A lightweight pallet comprises an article receiving member 1 with feet or bearers 2 forming a single or double-decked pallet, Figs. 1 to 3 (not shown). The pallet is made of hard expanded plastics material 9 with reinforcing elements embedded in the article receiving member 1. Fig. 6 shows an embodiment with corrugated board elements 5 with the corrugations at right angles (more than two layers may be used) and a circumferential batten 1a. Fig. 8 shows an embodiment with a circumferential frame 3. Fig, 11 shows an embodiment with coiled wire reinforcing elements 4 and recesses 1c to receive goods such as gas cylinders. Fig. 12 shows an embodiment with reinforcing elements 6 of steel or other metal or plastic with cardboard layers 10, the feet 2 also including reinforcements 8. Fig. 13 shows an embodiment with reinforcement in the form of frame elements 7.
