Abstract
1,168,197. Mounting sights. ETABS. SALGAD. 17 May, 1968 [19 May, 1967], No. 23574/68. Heading F3C. A gunsight mounting for attachment to a part of a weapon, especially a mortar, has a locking part comprising a cam 22 mounted on a pin 20, the longitudinal axis 19 of the pin being parallel with the direction in which the mounting is moved to interengage the mounting with the weapon and the cam 22 being spring-urged, as by a torsion spring 25, into engagement with a recess (Fig. 5, not shown) in the weapon. The interengagement of the mounting with the weapon comprises a dovetail connection. The cam 22 is adjustably mounted on the pin by cooperating screw means and is locked to the pin by a set-screw. The pin is turned by a handle 28. The pin 20 is mounted in a part 3 of the mounting, which part 3 has a casing rotatably mounted thereon (Fig. 2, not shown), rotation being effected by a worm 7 in the casing and a worm-wheel on the part 3. A holding body 11 is in turn rotatably mounted on a cylindrical portion of the casing and is rotated thereon by a worm-worm-wheel combination actuated from a knob 13. A sight-up telescope 15 is connected to the holding body 11 through a spring-biased holder mounted in the hold-up body (Fig. 2, not shown).
