Abstract

1,253,435. Mounting sights. AVIMO Ltd. 29 July, 1970 [29 July, 1969], No. 38036/69. Heading F3C. A firearm sight mount comprises a cover 1 adapted to be secured on the upper part of a firearm and having a sight carrying support member 4 hingedly connected thereto, the hinge axis lying longitudinally of the cover 1. The support member 4 is hingeable between an operating position in which the sight 3 is above the cover 1 and a stowed position in which the sight 3 is laturally of the cover 1. A releasable means 7, 8, 9 is provided for maintaining the support member in the operating position. In the construction shown the sight 3 is adjusted for range by turning a knob 19, the knob being connected to an eccentric spindle which works in a clamp of the sight (Figs. 5, 6, not shown). Coarse and fine azimuth adjustments are also provided in the form of screws the coarse adjustment screw acting between the support member 4 and an intermediate member and the fine adjustment screw between the intermediate member and the sight (Figs. 5, 6, not shown). The coarse adjustment screw is preset and the fine adjustment screw is rotated through a knob 29. The support member is held in its stowed position by a stud on the member co-operating with a socket on the cover 1 (Fig. 4, not shown).
