Abstract

1,167,654. Gas syringes. W.G. FLAIG & SONS Ltd. June 7, 1968 [June 8, 1967], No.26438/67. Heading F1N. A nozzle attachment for the apertured end 3 of the glass barrel 1 of a gas syringe comprises a plastics base port 8 disposed within the barrel and having a threaded stem 9 extending through the aperture 4, a plastics nozzle 11 being screwed on to the stem 9 to draw the base 8 into sealing engagement with the end 3. Polyethylene or nylon are the preferred plastics material. To improve sealing a layer of sealing material may be disposed between the end 3 and the base 8 or, alternatively, a ring seal may be provided in a recess cut in the face of the nozzle which abuts the end 3.
