In a rotary conical plug cock of which the plug 4 and housing 1 are of glass or other material the plug has an extension 7 at its smaller end with a groove 9 to receive an internal rib 11 if a cap 10 which retains the plug in the housing. The cap may be of low density polyethylene or rubber and code coloured for identification of plug cock size.
