Abstract

1,220,613. Container closures. C. H. MALPAS. 8 April, 1968 [14 April, 1967; 29 March, 1968], No. 16876/68. Heading B8T. A container for liquids comprises an outer container 11 supporting a dispensing valve housing 14, and an inner flexible container 12, a portion of which is clamped across the inner end of a neck 16 of the valve housing 14 to form a frangible diaphragm 36, a first clamping ring 28 engaging the flexible container either directly over the inner end of the neck, Fig. 7 (not shown), or over a second ring 27, Fig. 2, mounted thereon. A stud 23 of the housing 14 engages in an aperture in an end plate 15 of the outer container 11 to prevent rotation of the housing 14, and a plug 37 engages in the housing 14 prior to penetration of the diaphragm 36 by a valve member (not shown). Specification 1,168,465 is referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,168,465.
