Abstract

1,166,448. Grippers for lifting articles. L. F. BLATT. 23 Jan., 1968 [16 March, 1967], No. 31675/66. Headings B8H and B8R. The jaws 10, 12 of a gripper, which are pivoted on a common fixed axis 14, are closed when a clevis 28 and piston rod 26 are moved to the right by a piston in a cylinder 24. Links 30, 36 are prevented from moving over centre by projections 44 on the upper jaw arms 16 which abut the links 36. Adjustable convex conical jaw inserts (40), Fig. 2 (not shown), and concave inserts (42) are mounted on jaw plates 18, 22 respectively.
