Abstract
1,166,054. Aerials. NORDISH ANTENNE FABRIK A.S. 15 Nov., 1966 [17 Nov., 1965], No. 51122/66. Heading H4A. An aerial comprises a unipole aerial element which is connected to a co-axial cable through a matching element, said elements being formed into two loops which have a side in common. Neither loop is completely closed, and together they resemble a letter "S". As described, an aerial element 4, Fig. 1, is of U-shape with straight sides, and is surrounded by cylindrical ferrite members 5. The matching element consists of a co-axial line 2 of rectangular shape, which is disposed co-planar with and adjacent to the element 4. It is stated that interaction between the fields of the two elements modifies the directional characteristic of the aerial, and broadens its frequency response. In other embodiments, Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown), the conductors constituting the aerial and matching elements are formed into triangular or semicircular shapes. In another embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown) the aerial element and the matching element are respectively disposed in planes which are at right angles to each other.
