Abstract
1,165,991. Electromagnetic relays; co-axial line switches. RADIALL. 4 Jan., 1967 [5 Jan., 1966; 25 Oct., 1966], No. 590/67. Headings H1N and H1W. A coaxial change-over relay has three (one input, two output) connectors 1, 2, 3 and coil terminals 16 on one face 19 of the relay casing. The central conductors of the output connectors 2, 3 are bent at right angles to form the fixed contacts (7, 8) and the central conductor (10) of the input connector 1 supports the fixed end of a blade (4) biased against one fixed contact (7). When series coils 15a, 15b are energized the pivoted armature 14 is attracted and an insulator 18 engages the blade 4 to move it from the fixed contact (7) to the other fixed contact (8) of the connector 3. To reduce the capacitance between the blade 4 and the disengaged contact the blade 4<SP>1</SP> (Fig. 6) may carry a double stud P1 to project into casing recesses on each side of the space 5<SP>1</SP> surrounding the blade. Alternatively the blade end may be bent to project into a recess (Fig. 7, not shown).
