Abstract

1,165,466. Multiple casting mould. A. KLEIBER and W. SCHMIDT. 25 July, 1967 [16 Aug., 1966], No. 34099/67. Heading B5A. A multiple casting mould comprises end plates and intermediate plates suspended from overhead girder means, the plates being flexirally rigid, and at least one of the overhead girder means being extensible and adapted to be lifted by lifting devices. As shown, the apparatus comprises end plates 1 and 2, plate 1 being rigidly fixed to the base girders 9 and plate 2 being suspended along with the intermediate girders from a girder 29 and held in position by a stop 10. The lower girder 9 contains extensible members 11, 12 provided at their ends with sleeve members 13, 14 through which pass lifting columns 15, 16, these columns being attached to the extension members 11, 12 by jacks 19, 20. Sloping struts 23 are also attached to the end of extension piece 12 and support at their upper end a roller 25 held in bracket 24 on which rests the extension girder 27 hinged to girder 29 at 30 and held in position by stops 31, 32. The girder 29 comprises two U-shaped girders joined at the top in which run wheels supporting a hanger on which the intermediate panels are adjustably sprung mounted. The bases of the intermediate panels are held in members 8 slidably engaging the base girder 9, and the gaps between the panels are fitted by members (now shown) pivotably attached to the adjacent panels. The apparatus when not in use may be raised by the jacks 19, 20 on to a lorry, contraction of the extensible members rendering the unit transportable.
