Abstract

1,162,125. Vehicle light control system. C.F. PELLICER and J.L. SANCHEZ. Feb. 14, 1967 [March 16, 1966], No.6937/67. Heading G1A. An arrangement for switching headlamps on a vehicle from "intensive" lighting to "pass" lighting comprises a photo-electric unit mounted to receive light from an approaching vehicle and a transistor control circuit including two power amplifying branches the terminal transistors of which are in the paths of the "intensive" and "pass" filaments respectively, and are rendered conductive respectively according to whether approaching light is or is not detected. The detection element includes a converging lens and a pair of photocells mounted relatively at an obtuse angle, and manual over-ride switching is provided. The system may include an oscillator whereby the lighting may be made intermittent, and the control circuit may incorporate feedback to improve its response.
