Abstract

888,157. Photo-electric control of vehicle headlamps. KISMET Ltd. Oct. 24, 1960 [Oct. 23, 1959], No. 35991/59. Class 40(3). An automatic headlamp dipping system in which a photoresistance operates a relay, includes means for selecting high or low beams at will. With the switch 13 in position 15, illumination of the photoresistance 2 causes a transistor TR2 to pass current, energising the relay 9 to switch to low beam. Resistor R1 and capacitor Cl reduce the delay in switching back to high beam on removal. of illumination. At any time the arm 17 may be moved to either of positions 14 or 16 which provide low and high beams respectively. The Provisional Specification describes a circuit using only one transistor and with no R1, C1 network.
