Abstract

1,160,752. Transverse-flow fans. FIRTH CLEVELAND Ltd. May 4, 1967 [April 1, 1966], No.10302/69. Divided out of 1,160,751. Heading F1C. A transverse-flow rotor comprises at least two coaxial discs having blade-receiving slots therein and a blade received in each slot and secured therein by a plastics coating applied both to the blades and to the discs. The coating may be applied to the rotor by dipping or spraying. It is stated that securing the blades by plastics coating is better than securing by hotdip galvanizing which may result in thermal distortion and unbalance of the rotor.
