In an aerial of the two-reflector or Cassegrain type a supplementary reflector Rs is placed between the primary source S and the auxiliary reflector R a in order to increase the illumination upon the edge portions of the main reflector Rp, with the object of reducing the effects of aperture blocking by the said auxiliary reflector. The supplementary reflector may be supported on a rod t extending from the auxiliary reflector and may be constituted by a single disc, or by a series of discs whose diameters decrease towards the main reflector (Fig. 6, not shown). Alternatively, the supplementary reflector may comprise portions of cones or cylinders, or of hyperboloids, ellipsoids, or paraboloids, which may be confocal with the auxiliary reflector.
