Abstract

1,158,824. Separating liquid particles from gas stream. PEERLESS MFG. CO. 7 July, 1967 [23 Jan., 1967], No. 31389/67. Heading BIT. Liquid particles are separated from a gas stream by passing it along winding passages defined between baffles 32, 34, 36, which have traps formed by flanges 50, 52, 54 and are spaced apart by generally U-shaped spacers 56 . . . 62, each welded at 80 to one baffle and having an apex which seats in a similar apex of the adjacent baffle. An extension 78 from one foot of each spacer abuts an apex of its baffle to locate the spacer prior to welding. In use, the baffles extend vertically, gas passes from right to left, and liquid drains down the flanges 50 . . . 54.
