Abstract

[Also in Division B8] Apparatus for loading mine cars 4 or the like from a conveyer 14 comprises a structure 2 supporting a shoot 1 under the outlet 1A of which the cars pass. Transverse anti-spill members 5 are mounted on pivots 11 perpendicular to chains 6 which run in guideways 10 at the aperture engaging run and in return guideways 12 on the return run 8 the arrangement being such that the run 8 passes alongside the shoot 1 at one side of it as shown in Fig. 2. The guideways are of box section with slots 10a, 12a for the pivots 11 to pass. In a modified form of anti-spill members a bell crank lever is pivoted to each member 5 to be engaged by the cars. The cars 4 may engage the members 5 under the shoot and thus drive the chains 6 or the latter may be driven and thus drive the cars 4 by engagement therewith.
