[Also in Division B8] In a storage system (see Division B8) trolleys 6, Fig. 3, are selectively movable on tracks 8 along which they are propelled by an endless chain 5. Each trolley incorporates a pair of sprockets 11, Fig. 5, in permanent engagement one with each run of the chain. The chain is run continuously but the sprockets normally rotate idly, so that the trolleys are at rest. To move a trolley the appropriate sprocket 11 is locked by a brake 13 to the frame of the trolley. The chain 6 may be replaced by a cable and the sprockets 11 by pulleys, in which case the cable is wrapped completely round each pulley.
