Abstract

1,157,921. Two-part couplings. SEALECTRO Ltd., and S. T. DEAKIN. 2 March, 1967 [9 March, 1966], No. 10414/66. Heading H2E. A plug 15 is mechanically held in a board 10 by mutually insulated contacts 21 and 25 which engage conductive portions 11 and 12 on either side of a hole 14 in the board, an additional fixing member (30) passing through a further hole (13) in the board to provide a three - point mounting. Contact 21 is resilient and laterally spaced from contact 25 which has a projection 23 engaging conductive portion 12. The contact 25 may be oriented so that the plug is tilted against the pressure of contact 21 to make edge 14 vertical for insertion or withdrawal. The body 17 may be moulded and may house a diode 16 connected to the contacts by leads 18 and 19. The additional fixing member may be similar to contact 23 but is insulated. The board may have a set of parallel contact strips on each face which sets may be mutually perpendicular (Fig. 1, not shown) also each hole in the board may pass through only one conductive portion.
