Abstract

1,157,234. Armoured vehicles. KELLER & KNAPPICH G.m.b.H. 6 Oct., 1967 [21 Oct., 1966], No. 45644/67. Heading F3C. An armoured vehicle is provided with belt fed, armour plated, automatic weapons 12, mounted outside a cabin, and turret combination, the belt feed being taken from the cabin and turret through an opening 15 in the roof 16 thereof and continuing through a passage 18 which is protected by a shield plate 6. The armour plating 3 is rotatably mounted on one side only of the shield plate 6 on a hollow king pin 4 about a horizontal axis. The turret is provided with a window 27. In the construction shown two identical sighting devices 9 are mounted in the turret 17 with periscope mirrors 28. The weapons are trained by a drive means 24 through levers 26 and elevated through a linkage system (Fig. 2, not shown), hand cranks 30, 31 being provided in case of power failure. The armour plating is formed with a hinged flap provided with an ejector opening 12. Seats 25 are mounted on a platform 32 which rotates with the turret.
