Abstract

1,157,230. Caps for containers. P. BINDSCHEDLER. 5 Oct., 1967 [23 Jan., 1967], No. 45569/67. Heading B8T. A crown cap and metal container combination comprises a cap having a shallow skirt with .corrugations 6, 7 terminating short of outwardlyrolled claws 1-3 separated by slots 4, each claw 1 &c. extending over two adjacent corrugations, the cap being forced on to a container having an outwardly-rolled lip 8 over which the claws are crimped. A seal (9), Fig. 5 (not shown), is provided round the inside periphery of the cap top. A ridge 10, Fig. 3, around the container affords a fulcrum for use when levering-off the cap.
